AEROPUERTOS DE HONDURAS PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY DRILL AT THE TONCONTIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Tegucigalpa Thursday, June 29. Authorities at the Toncontín International Airport conducted a real-time aircraft accident drill within the airport called “Operation Falcón”, with the objective of evaluating and measuring the response in an emergency of the external entities involved in the airport operations.
The execution of this simulation complies with the provisions of the National Civil Aviation Safety Program, which establishes the effectiveness evaluation, highlighting the ongoing work of Aeropuertos de Honduras on safety issues.
The Honduran Civil Aeronautics Agency (AHAC), the Honorable and Meritorious Fire Brigade, the Honduran Red Cross, the Permanent Commission of Contingencies (COPECO), the Honduran Air Force (FAH) through the air base Hernán Acosta Mejía, Honduran Institute of Social Security (IHSS), University School Hospital (HEU), Honduran Airline Association (AHLA), National Transit Authority (DNT), Fire Airports Fighters, the Aeronautical Security Directorate (DSA) and operational and administrative personnel of Toncontín International Airport.
The simulations are requirements of national and international organisms that regulate the operational security of the airports, establishing requirements and procedures that must be fulfilled in established dates.
