In compliance with the RAC 139 of AHAC (Honduran Civil Aviation Agency), regarding the measurements of friction characteristics or track friction, Aeropuertos de Honduras performed in the second quarter of 2017 the corresponding tests of tracks friction in the International Airports Juan M. Gálvez of Roatán, Ramón Villeda Morales of San Pedro Sula and Toncontín of Tegucigalpa.
These tests are carried out with a Continuous Friction Measurement Equipment (CFME), certified by AHAC, which evaluates the behavior of the pavement in adverse weather conditions and determines the coefficient of friction. This makes it possible to make measurements as defined by ICAO and report the results to the AHAC.
In this way Aeropuertos de Honduras contributes to the Operational Safety maintaining a constant monitoring of the tracks of the international airports of Honduras.
