AEROPUERTOS DE HONDURAS ANNOUNCES THE ARRIVAL OF CHOICE AIR AND AIR PANAMA

Tegucigalpa December 1st. Aeropuertos de Honduras announces the arrival of the airlines Choice Air of the United States and Air Panama starting operations in the country as of December 15th.

The Airline, Choice Air informed that it will begin its operations with five flights from Miami to the Ramon Villeda Morales Airport in San Pedro Sula and three more flights between New Orleans and San Pedro Sula and vice versa during the week.

The type of aircrafts that will be available are BoEing 737-400 with capacity for 140 passengers, 12 seats in first class and 138 standard.

In addition, Air Panama, will operate two direct flights from Panama City to the Juan Manuel Gálvez Airport in Roatan, Bay Islands.

Air Panama, is the second largest airline in the country, with its headquarters at Marcos A. Gelabert International Airport and offers charter and scheduled flights to different locations in Panama, as well as regular flights to the city of San José, Costa Rica, Medellín and Armenia in Colombia.

This airline will operate two direct weekly flights  and will in have available aircraft type Fokker 100 with  a   capacity of 100 passengers.

Airport Manager, Edgardo Maradiaga said that “with the arrival of these new airlines, it will contribute to the development and growth of tourism in the country, which is at one of its best moments because of the large number of travelers that circulate in Christmas time by the four air terminals “.

From January to date the number of passengers in the four international airports, is 460 thousand domestic travelers and more than one million 300 thousand passengers. With the Christmas season   more than two million 100 thousand incoming and outgoing tourists are being awaited.
