Tegucigalpa, November 16th. Aeropuertos de Honduras informs that for the holiday season that started, the influence of passengers both national and international will be almost 290 thousand passengers, which will be mobilized in the four terminals in the country.
The General Manager of Aeropuertos de Honduras, Edgardo Maradiaga stated that “almost 227,400 passengers will transit internationally through the four International Airports, while more than 62 thousand passengers will transit nationwide, making a positive contribution towards the country’s economy.”
The airports with the most influence of passengers will be in San Pedro Sula, in the Ramón Villeda Morales airport, which expects to receive 119,523 thousand passengers and Toncontín Airport, expects 108,715 passengers to enter.
The number of passengers grew from 700 thousand in the year 2001 to 2 million 104 thousand passengers in 2016, traveling through the four air terminals.
In view of the high influence of passengers, Aeropuertos de Honduras will provide the appropriate information to all travelers, traveling through the four air terminals through customer service to which will provide any information they require.
In order to provide all passengers with a better service, a contribution towards the modernization and operational safety has been made by investing to date more than 62 million dollars, developing its own infrastructure for air navigation as well as the extension and maintenance of the run way, and also in the improvement of the civil infrastructure in air terminals for the attention of the passengers, always attending the needs generated by the growth of the demand.
The Concessionaire has paid to the State almost 2 thousand 655 million Lempiras, in concept of canon from the year 2000 to date, time during which, the country’s international airports have been administered with positive results in the contribution towards the national economy.
